Beauty Tips – Eyebrow Shaping

Shaping your eyebrows is a great way to boost your overall appearance. You do not have to be a model to look great and shaping your eyebrows is a great place to start. Eyebrow shaping not only helps define the features on your face, but it can actually help you look and feel younger, as well as make the face look firmer at the same time. Having shaped eyebrows opens up your eye area, making your eye makeup even more enjoyable to wear.
Many people shy away from eyebrow shaping because they are afraid that they will either mess up or that it will hurt. However, you can minimize the sting and the chances of messing up if you know exactly what to do to perfect the art of eyebrow shaping.
Let’s Get Started!
Trimming
The first thing you will want to do is start trimming the excess hair from the eyebrows. This alone can help your appearance. To trim the eyebrows, you should use a small pair of scissors or a mustache trimmer that comes with a comb to help guide you along.
The key to trimming your eyebrows without making errors is to do this two ways. First, comb the hair on the eyebrows up towards your forehead. Any hair that reaches beyond that of the natural brow line should be trimmed. Then you want to do the same thing again, only this time combing down, and trimming again what reaches beyond that of the natural brow line. Do this on both brows.
Tweezing
To know exactly what hairs should be tweezed, there is a great little technique. If you have pencil eyeliner in your makeup kit, take it out and put it against the side of your nose vertically. This means that it should start mid mouth and be near the eye’s tear duct. It is at this point your eyebrow should naturally start. If it doesn’t and you notice any hairs on the opposite side of the pencil – away from the brow – tweeze these hairs. Do this for both brows.
For the arch of the brow, take the same pencil eyeliner and place it diagonally. The pencil should rest on the outside of the eye’s iris, the nostril, and the mid mouth. Here is where you want to be careful. This should be a gradual thing, you do not want to overdo it. You want to gradually tweeze a line from the start of the brow to the arch.
For the end of the brow, again place the pencil eyeliner in a diagonal direction from outside eye corner, crossing the nostril and mid mouth section. For hairs that reach past that point, tweezing is necessary.
Finishing Up
Once you have finished tweezing and trimming, if you place the same pencil eyeliner in a horizontal line from start to end of the brow, you should find a straight and perfect line on both brows.
There are other ways of shaping your eyebrows as well, such as threading or waxing, but for these methods it is advisable that you enlist the help of your favorite salon to avoid any mistakes or accidents.
If you think that shaping and trimming your eyebrows is now your cup of tea then you can visit a beautician. A professional will cost you a bit but you wont have to worry about looking weird if you mess up. On the other hand it always pays to practice, so practice as much as you can and you will finally be able to shape your eyebrows like a pro. The tips mentioned above simplify the process of shaping and trimming your eyebrows. You need to remember never to exert too much pressure on your eyebrows or it can result in swelling.
Our suggestion is to save money and do it yourself, after all how knows your face better than you do?

Beauty Tips – Hair Shampoo Basics

Shampooing your hair is the most common and effective way of keeping your hair clean. Most experts recommend that you shampoo your hair every day. Shampoo actually helps eliminate the dirt and germs that may have gathered in your hair during the course of the day. However the shampoo you pick will purely depend on your scalp type. There are many types of shampoos available to choose from so a good starting point would be to actually know your scalp type and pick a shampoo accordingly.
Shampoos are designed to clean the hair of dirt, oils, skin particles, dandruff, environmental impurities and other contaminants that build up in hair. The liquid shampoo is combined with water and massaged into the hair and scalp. Lather is generated with helps clean the hair shaft, scalp, and ends. Shampoo manufacturers are constantly offering new and innovative shampoos for a wide variety of hair types and conditions. There are daily cleansing shampoos which contain mild ingredients and are used to remove build up of dirt, styling products, and other debris. There are shampoos engineered for color-treated hair, which prevent color from fading and provide extra conditioning agents that treat dry, overstressed hair.
Shampoos are also available for normal hair, oily hair, and fine hair. There are shampoos which boost volume and increase strength and hair elasticity. There are shampoos that promote shine and manageability for hair types that are coarse or tend to be frizzy and for naturally curly and permed hair, which helps maintain the integrity of the curls.
Shampoos sometimes will be combined with a conditioner ingredient. These are known as “2 in 1″ formulas. Shampoo manufacturers even cater to children. Large selections of products are available specifically for infants and children and often provide a mild shampoo which does not irritate the eyes. These are known as tearless shampoos. Kid shampoos usually come fruity-scented and in brightly designed containers. Some shampoos are even colored; however, they do not stain the natural color of the hair itself. For older children and adults, there are shampoos specially formulated to maintain and bring out the tones and highlights of hair’s natural colors for blondes, brunettes, redheads, and hair that has matured to gray or white.
There is emerging technology for the over-the-counter treatment of such issues as dandruff, scalp problems, and head lice which are available in shampoo form. For more severe issues, medical intervention and prescription shampoos may be required. Several manufacturers have begun using sunscreen as an ingredient in shampoos to protect the hair from sun damage. Alopecia (hair loss), baldness, and thinness are sometime treated with specialty or prescription strength shampoos which promote thickness and encourage hair growth. Swimmers who have lighter colored hair find frequent exposure to chlorine and other pool chemicals turn their hair shades of green. There are several shampoos available which cleanse the chemicals out of the hair, restore the natural color, and recondition the hair.
Shampoos are a one stop solution to all your hair problems, ranging from hair lice to dandruff. But it is imperative that you pickup a shampoo that suits your hair, experimenting with new brands and products is a good idea just so that you know which other products can be used. In the end it all boils down to actually buying a shampoo that really works for you.

The Differences
If you thought choosing a brush was easy, you are going to be surprised. It is not as simple as picking out one brush and that is that. No, now of hair accessories you have many different types to choose from.
? Round Hair Brush – Round hair brushes are not for everyone, particularly those with curly hair. These brushes are meant to add body and curls to the normally straight hair. They are also great for speeding up the time it takes to blow dry, thanks to the clever little holes. However, be careful with these, if not used properly, trust me, they become tangled in your hair quite easily; getting them it out is the hard part.
? Paddle Hair Brush – These can be large or small, depending on preference and coverage area. These typically have small to medium bristles.
? Picks – These are for curly to permed hair, never try to use a regular brush on permed hair, unless you want the perm to come out and extremely uneven at that.
? Combs – Typically, men and women with fine hair can get away with using combs. Some women, even those with thick hair, will use a comb for parting in specific spots or separating layers for styling.
No matter what type of brush you are choosing, you want to keep a few things in mind. First, use hair brushes that have a good handle, which will allow you to keep your grip and keep it tight. Next, look at the bristles on the brush, choose those which are fine and small, this will prevent tearing of the hair.
